Our counting lines per journal is around 800-1000 lines. After committing counting lines from POS, once system complete processes for all lines, journal lines will be created on D365 backends. Time out from committing on POS to journal lines created is 10 minutes during those waiting time Commit button on POS should be grey out.
Since time out after committing on POS is 2 minutes, user can recommit again but hit error. This confuse POS user whether those counting journal lines are successfully committed or not.

Thanks for your feedback. Redesigning in-store inventory counting operation is currently on our roadmap and planned for 2021. We're thinking to leverage the same async document processing framework currently powering Inbound / Outbound operations to support the processing of counting journals in the future, so POS users can have a better visibility to the counting status.
