 When creating a new customer in D365 client, some duplicate checking is done eg on first/last name; the use is then prompted to choose to use the existing record or continue to create a new record. But in POS this functionality is not present, resulting in potentially many duplicate customer records. Suggest to align the functionality between D365 client and POS in this area.

We will continue to monitor votes to determine if this should be prioritized into our product backlog.  Thank you for your feedback.   Duplicate checking by name is often not the best way to find duplicates in a direct to consumer scenario since many customers will have the same name.  This works best in B to B environments.  The current duplicate checking feature in Dynamics 365 F&O is designed for B to B and not by the Retail team.  If we were to add duplicate checking, we would have to consider additional criteria to prevent excessive amounts of inaccurate 'duplicates' from being found.
