It would be nice if Business Central would provide a build-in HTML Editor Control Add-In, which could be used for Editing Rich Text like a detailed Item Description for a Online Shop or when Sending an Invoice via E-Mail with E-Mail Body to edited the body before sending.

A few Open Source Editors to choose from that could be integrated:

Hopefully this would be considered under a general page redesign. Hopefully it is time to reconsider whether collapsed groups are optimal and whether a current side panels covers all the scenarios including rich html editing, pdf preview and editing.

@Joriek Rogge : Hi, Yes I would like an exemple. I'm trying to do the same for a customer who need to edit HTML before sending to the website.

Hi, I created a rich HTML editor based on the QuillJS library.
I also managed to create a light weight addin to display PDF files on a local folder in a factbox.
If you need an example, feel free to contact me.

I very much would like this native, too.

If you need a temporary ControlAddIn work-around, I used an Angular based HTML editor as my example control type in my blog about NAV:

+1 for a preview control which allows to show a preview of PDF documents as well!!!

This along with a blob file previewer that can handle inline preview side by side will be especially powerful if the team engineering team execute the October release of multitasking successfully. At the end of the day, almost all editing requires space and wouldn't be suited to a traditional page layout.

Just think of what can be done with Inbound Documents, Looking at Item data whilst editing descriptions.

+1 for Richard's request for a viewer as well as an editor

I agree on this one 100 %. For one client on BC, I've used https://www.tiny.cloud/ to manage e-mail writing.

This would be a great addition to the data enrichment for items etc. I think that pretty much all systems (PIM's, webshops, email systems etc.) that tap in to data from Business central would include any promotional text (in HTML) if it was there for grabs.

I think you will find many solution that try to do HTML and store it in eg. extended text, but gets in to a battle with text lengths, the issue on unclosed HTML tags ruining the output.
So i think that besides the editor there should be a native HTML viewer as well.
