This is also seen on the sales side where a company may have a certificate of conformance or a quality document or documents that are item specific and would be attached to the sales line and related document lines (shipment/invoice, etc.).
Not having this is a major impediment to traceability and being able to produce proper quality certificates for products purchased or manufactured and sold

Hi Kevin,
Just another customer with a technical bent. We had some same issue and have done quite an extensive customisation in this area. Rather than a generic attachment list (which doesn't allow enhanced workflow) we actually used a specific field for certificate of analysis and organic receipts (when required). We upload/download via actions in the menu. This has also been integrate to automatically send out CoA and Organic Docs (if relevant) where a customer has nominated to receive these documents (and optionally supply additional contact) in that case. This also allows us to automate incoming container advice to warehouse where we provide documents as required for quarantine. Feel free to drop us a line. Only constraint of our approach is need is it only works with lot tracked items (not serial) and yes involves extension.
