Business Users are not comfortable with the existing design of the D365 F&O because whenever they are trying to upload the data using Excel Add-in D365 is asking credentials to be entered. It is same with Financial Report designer and Workflow Editor as well. Even though they have logged in proper credentials into D365 why system is asking them provide credentials again to login related applications. This should be done automatically, and they feel quite annoying to provide credentials multiple times. Solution Required: MS should provide some option to enable auto login to MS related applications like Excel Add-in, Financial Reporter, Workflow Editor, etc.

I can respond from a financial reporting perspective, but not from the other areas. We looked at making a change to support this a few months ago and unfortunately the option available then would have not allowed authentication of any user but the current windows logged in user. That solution would have not worked for many customers and partners who need to use alternate credentials or use dedicated testing accounts for a partner accessing a customer environment or an internal testing login. There does not appear to be a good solution to enable this today, but if options open up we may consider them.

 

Closing at this time since we are unlikely to resolve in the near-term.
