If you don't require a pick, it doensn't mean that you can't use it. However, I agree that there's no way of making it mandatory on Sales and not mandatory on Production Orders.

Sometimes customers move away from Production Picks because NAV is not flexible: You must pick the exact quantity that is to be consumed; not more, not less. On a food industry, for example, customers pick additional raw material and leave it there for future orders; Production Picks are useless here.

Therefore, leaving this Pick requirement more specific per area will make Warehousing easier for customers who have a more dynamic production environment, but still want to benefit from Sales Picks.
